Joining the advocacy for women empowerment, the NCMB Regional Branch No. 1 engaged in a number of activities in the annual celebration of the World Women’s Month Day and Philippines’ Women’s Month regularly held in the month of March.

The Branch walked for this cause on March 8, 2019, along with other government agencies and private institutions, attending the Fun Walk organized by the Regional Advocates of Gender Equality (RAGE). Later that day, it also held a learning session for its staff courtesy of Supervising LEO Felicidad Q. Corpuz, who discussed violence against women and children.

A symposium at Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas – La Union, also organized by RAGE, was attended by ADASIII Marissa Padua on March 22, 2019. Subjects regarding family planning, teenage pregnancy and the importance of media in women empowerment were discussed during the conference.

In addition, a health and wellness activity was held for the Branch personnel on March 6, 2019 composed of Zumba and bowling activities.

The Branch was also a part of the NCMB Luzon Cluster GAD Training on March 20-22, 2019 at Caramoan, Camarines Sur where a GAD Awareness and Sensitivity Training was rolled out courtesy by none other than NCMB RB1 Director Jay Jasper B. Javines.
