The La Union Cement Workers Union (LUCWU) of Holcim Philippines – La Union Plant held yet another labor education seminar for its officers and shop stewards on December 3, 2018 at Venus Parkview Hotel, Baguio City.
Entitled “Seminar on Industrial Relations and DOLE Updates”, the activity covered a discussion on unionism courtesy of NCMB RB1 Chief Jay Jasper B. Javines. He encouraged the union to remain positive in their disposition towards their goals and continue to work for the betterment of the working conditions of its members.
“Stay healthy as well,” added Javines, reminding them of the importance keeping their physicality at a prime level for them to be able to continue their good works for the union.
NCMB RB1 Sr. LEO Lester B. Panem also provided a lecture on workplace attitude and values – anchored on value formation, its influence on attitude and behavior, and the magnitude of attitude; and, as specifically requested by LUCWU, he also had a lecture on stress management.
“As always, we are so grateful for the services the NCMB has rendered to us once again,” Judor Ulpindo, LUCWU President, said. “It has never failed us to make us learn something we can bring back to our work,” he added.
