Director Jay Jasper B. Javines, along with the RCMB1 staff, went to DOLE Regional Office 1 for a courtesy call to Director Nathaniel V. Lacambra on December 6, 2018.
The visit, delayed by tight schedules and prior appointments, took place at Lacambra’s office, accommodating the full RCMB1 family. Formalities were followed by a casual conversation regarding the state of industrial relations in the region coming into the concerns of the TIPC for the tobacco industry. The DOLE and NCMB is currently on the watch for what it is that will unfold following the events of the massive lay-off of workers from the employment of PMFTC, Incorporated in its Vigan City plant.
The Directors also discussed few details of the scheduled SEADO Training for SENA desk officers on November 14-16, 2018 at Baguio City.
Javines proceeded on the same day to attend the IOM & OWWA – initiated activity on Migrant Workers’ Reintegration Counselling. He urged the trainees to be fully equipped with technical know-how and people skills if only to achieve the goal of making the government’s program on re-integration successful.
“We cannot be slacking in what we do if we are to help our OF’s and OFWs find a reason to stay home rather than work away from their loved ones,” Javines added.
