The Region 1 Ilocos Conflict Administration and Resolution Ensemble (I-CARE), Incorporated, gathered together and joined in the celebration of the Women’s Month on March 15, 2019 at Puerto de San Juan, San Juan, La Union.
Engr. Leonora Quarte, I-CARE Vice President for Labor, discussed Gender and Development (GAD) Awareness to the participants. She delved into the areas of women representation on employment, politics, and education.
Director Jay Jasper B. Javines of NCMB RB1 followed it up with a learning and sharing session on Organizational GAD Awareness and Sensitivity. Participants were given the chance to share their own perspectives and experiences with respect to the issues surrounding men and women, not only within organizations but down to the family level as well.
Sr. LEO Lester B. Panem added a complementary presentation that mainly discussed drivers of industrial peace, which include, among many others, values, interests, culture, collective bargaining agreement, compliance, economy, law and governance, politics, and globalization.
The convention served also as a planning session for the body with respect to the area-wide seminar to be conducted on April 25, 2019, during which time the General Assembly will be convened and elect a new set of officers for the Association.
